Memories that my family has created!

First of all I have the best Grandpa in the world. He came over to help deliver carpet with my parents and measured wood to frame in a window. He showed up three hours later ready with the frame pieces. Then the next day he came and helped me clean up water that flooded our basement. I love that I have someone to call to help out and he is so willing to help! I hope I can be like that when others need help. Serve others! Although he is retired and has no kids at home he has always been willing to serve. In young women's last week we talked about family traditions and creating memories with our families. I am working on recieving another Young Women Recognition Award with the new Personal Progress Program. One project is to read the Proclaimation of the Family and write down in your journal your family memories that you want to keep with your future family. Well since this is my journal here we go: I don't know where to begin. Family is very important to me and to the rest of my family. We love spending to together~sometimes we just call each other up and head over to my grandparents house on a Sunday afternoon just to play cards and have dinner together. Every year we use to go camping at Brownies by Flaming Gorge. I remember my Grandpa carrying me on his back over a dam so we could go fish on the rock's. Now my kids get to go to Wyoming to a cabin over Labor Day to go fourwheeling, fishing, yard sale shopping, and a game of softball. My grandpa is still out there playing with us. Mack loves to help my Grandpa with all the projects he does and he is so willing to let Mack help him. My Grandma for our birthday's use to take us to dinner and out to buy a present. I loved one on one time with Grandma. I don't ever remember the gifts I got or the places I chose to eat at just the time with Grandma. My other Grandma had BYU basketball season tickets and she would take one of us each time. I couldn't wait until it was my turn to go watch basketball with my grandma. We had great seats. My mom now has Grandma day each mouth with my Mack and they do a fun activity. Mack loves Grandma day! Every year we have a Christmas Eve party with family~all my cousins, aunts and uncles. And we have a New Year's Eve party. Really I would bring my friends to my family party and they loved it. I remember my other Grandpa Gillman being very sick. I knew he hated being sick and wanted to play baseball with us when we would go out in the horses corral. I knew it broke his heart. He bought us all skooters. He would come out on his porch and watch us ride our skooters for hours. He loved watching us play. I remember when my Grandpa passed away. I got to spend a couple of weeks with him taking care of him before he passed while my Grandma was working. I would fix his dinner, and help him around. I remember spending the next few days at my Grandma's after we found out. My Grandma just wanted family around her. I loved getting to see my cousins from out of town and my uncle from Texas. We spent a lot of time together the next few weeks as family. My Grandparents always came to support me and my sisters and all my cousins in our sporting events or whatever we were doing. I see my mom and dad doing that now with my nieces and nephews and with my kids. Mack's great grandparents, my grandparents still come to sporting events for their great grandkids. Just last December both grandparents came to see me and my sisters, cousin, aunt, uncle, dad play in softball in St. George. They travelled down to support us. Well I can go on and on but I am so thankful for all the memories I have had. I felt so loved as a kid and knew I also would be. I still feel so loved from my Grandparents and I am excited for the memories Mack and Gunnar will get to share with family. I am going to carry on the best I can these traditions.
